Auburn Al Offroad Park

Postby AUBronco » Sat Dec 12, 2009 8:40 pm

Well I have been living in this town for 6 years now and always wanted a place close by to play at. Wouldn't you know that when I am moving away some guy would buy a lot of land and open a park. Well I would say it's a park yet but he is working at on it. This weekend was one of his first weekends open and a few of us got there bright and early. We got to spend a lot of time with the owner who is a great guy and willing to learn a lot. Right now the park is mainly a mud park but thats going to change. We started to talking with him about how to advance the park and what he could do different. We have a very small group here in Auburn that I am apart of that likes to wheel (not just mud holes) and he wants us to help him build his park. :dance

So with that said we took off. We drove all over the 162 acres he has to wheel. And leave it to our small group to go to a "mud bog" and find some decent climbs to tackle. So on with the pics.

EXCELLENT This is great with the epa now in charge of water rights, and going to be over public lands like obama wants this is awesome. The only way wheeling is going to survive is to move to private lands where it is the owners rights not the goverment and all the sissys so this is great now i juat need to come visit you. Looks good so far. Some nice rigs you runnin with however the land cruiser needs to ditch the non cleaning tires. :drinks Cool stuff :woohoo

Thanks Dan. It really is a great place. Like you said this is the only way our sport is going to stay alive. This guy really wants to keep it a actual family atmosphere. It's going to take some time for him to get it completely built but it will get there. Our group is going to be out there as much as he will let us, to help him set it up. He was shocked when we told him that we would come out and do clean-up rides to keep the trails nice. He was like really you guys would do that. He only charges $10 per vehicle to get in and you can ride as long and as hard as you want. Oh that LC has knock off MTR's. My tires (which are MTR's) were just as caked as his. You gotta love the Alabama Clay after it's been rained on for a few hours. Found some more pics.

Patty tell the guy to make an account and advertise it here as its free. Not that we get a lot of traffic now but I like to support people like that. Its not much but hey sometime every little bit helps.. :thumbup

As for the MTR's they are not the best in the mud department but for trails and rocks they kick ass.. :drinks

Dan
Yeah I can do that. They own a collision shop here in town.

Dale

Will do. he is trying to get his website up and going. As soon as he emails me I will send him here.

OH and yeah I found out yesturday that MTR's dont like red clay but a little tire spin and they are fine. We were in some nasty stuff and it was pouring rain in most of those pics.

Sorry guys just now seeing this.

The park is up and running now. They have added a new section to the park. It's kinda like a obstacle course that is very muddy and VERY tight. However it looks fun and they are creating more new trails.

Thats about all i know of it right now. I will try and get some more info on it.
